Love Poem: Love Is

Love Is

Love is

Love is transient and sly.
Illusions veil before the eye.
On tender tiptoes take a try,
snapping like a twig that’s dry.

Love’s a boon desired by all.
In a second one can fall.
Like being hit by a brick wall,
he was handsome, trim and tall.

Love’s devotion for your life,
loyal husband or good wife,
to endure all stress and strife,
and produce a home of light.

Love is giving of yourself.
No chance to call on someone else.
They depend on you for help.
Agape love is keenly felt.

Love is a goodly thing.
Joy causes hearts to sing.
Grows with what we bring.
To God’s caring arms we cling.
