Love Poem: Love In An Hourglass

Love In An Hourglass

Love in an hourglass
Sand scraping sand
The grains always falling
Getting higher as they land

Time a trusted companion
Though distance travels true
Love the great connector
Bridging me to you

Gently flows the sand
Curving down the glass
Reaching to the future
While leaving behind the past

Falling ever slowly
Landing ever light
Holding on to memories
Changing day to night

Time a weary warrior
Divided in two parts
Feeling always separate
Though never in our hearts

Some time passes quickly
While some time passes slow
Before time passes us bye
There’s one thing you should know

Each grain brings us closer
Each day I love you more
Regardless of the time away
We’ll be better than before

Sometimes we may argue
And others we may fight
Love survives the winters
Endures the long cold nights

Time brings us healing
As spring ushers in the new
My love shines unhindered
Focused in on you

All my time is wasted
When we stand apart
When we rise together
A better life can start

I’m sorry for the winters
I’m sorry for the time
I wasted living without you
Before I called you mine

My heart is always with you
My love is in your hands
Always filling up your life
Like the grains of sand.
