Love I Have Yet To Find

“Love I have Yet to Find”

Through life there are special moments that are meant to be cherished
Your first love, your first kiss, your first child, the moment you realized you’re not alone
Through my life so many smiles, tears, heart ache, broken hearts, and happiness
Today is just a rush of all these wonderful things all at once

How does one person light a fire that was once put out by just saying hello?
So many memories rushed into my mind that reminded me of so long ago
Running from those who promised to keep hearts apart
Hiding from anyone who swore to break our hearts into pieces

Today was a reminder of the lies I tell every day about how happy I am being alone
I hate this emotional freight train that keeps my heart secluded from being torn apart
I don’t really care or want to be alone I’m just so scared of losing another person I love
God I really need your arms to guide me to a heart that can melt with mine eternally

I have forgotten how to act around those I truly have an interest in
Trapped behind this wall afraid to open the gate to happiness
On bending knees, I close my hands in prayer as I stare in to the heavens
God please hear my prayers as I no longer fear love already lost but cherish the thought of the love I have yet to find
