Love Hurts

Written: June 23, 2023 ______________________________________________________________ In the depths of midnight's embrace, Where sorrow lingers, leaving no trace, I found solace amidst a bluesy haze. A melody that danced through my heart's maze. Love, oh love, the grandest illusion, All that we seek, all that we yearn Yet it slips through our fingers, like sand in an hourglass. Leaving us with a bittersweet burn. Love is all that we have and all that we need. A fragile thread that weaves our lives together, But it's a double-edged sword, both tender and cruel. A rollercoaster ride that never seems to weather. Love begets love, they say. It feels like love is a game we never learned to play. We stumble and fall, trying to find our way. And in the process, we break and decay. Oh, the misery, the melancholy, the agony, Love is a hurricane that rips through our souls. Leaving us battered and bruised, in raggedy. But also capable of great growth and healing. Love is hurtful, yes, but it's also healing. A paradox that we must learn to embrace, For it's through the pain that we find our strength, That we discover the depths of our own grace. In the depths of midnight's embrace, Where sorrow lingers, leaving no trace, I found solace amidst a bluesy haze. In the darkness, I spotted my light in a maze.
