Love Poem: Love Gone Cold

Love Gone Cold

Once our love was like hot glowing embers,
torrid, sultry and heated were our days and nights.
      Your touch lit my very soul,
our lovemaking sizzling and steamy;
and our hearts entwined intense and fierce, and then
this love died like ashes and faded
      into cold dead embers.
Our love turned and became frosty,
gentleness became a snowy avalanche.
      Bone-chilling words clashed,
and love like icy snowflakes fell;
frigid snow storms filled our days and nights, until
a great snow drift divided us, and then
      love, was just gone . . .
