Love Poem: Love and War

Love and War

My heartstrings he played with a gentle touch Trust works both ways with such blissful delight In midnight garden his kiss made me blush Memory so dear will cherish that night. Turbulent time imminent war proclaimed Echoes of armour and shields polished bright I sit with my needle fear is unfeigned My gentle lover is a fearsome sight. Subjected to masculine rules and whims Emotions are kept under strict control Although my future looks extremely grim I have one thing to guard that is my soul. Love comes at a price in uncertain times One midnight tryst I remember sublime.
