Love Poem: Love An Entanglement of Emotions

Love An Entanglement of Emotions

Wisdom, is it the acrimonious essence of love?
Nay, for I see a foolish man subjecting himself
Time and time again for the lesson not learned
Hence I am stripped of all love’s wealth

I question the formula I have applied:
That is, is love intense and as beautiful as a sunset?
Is it delicate and frail?
Or a threat?

Is it as strong as the waves of the sea?
Tossing a helpless ship?
Or as potent as a deadly poison
As I keep bringing it to my lips to take a sip?

Does it excel as far
And beyond the universe?
Or is it the madness that is
my driven curse?

Does my love scare “you?”
If so it is not mine but your love
You established in me
That’s true

Love an entanglement of emotions
Embraced by the delusional false hope of devotion
With a sinister notion
Yea, of a foolish man accustomed to drinking the deadly potion
