Love Poem: Lost Without You

Lost Without You

I was lost, but then I found you
I never thought that it would be this way
I showed you my heart, I left it unguarded
Then like a thief in the night, you stole it away
These days I’d trade sight for feeling
There are days when my feeling is gone
I can’t figure out whose life I am living
These days I don’t know right from wrong
When I lost my faith in life itself
You helped me find my faith again
As these words slip off my tongue
I find myself wondering if they sound dumb
If my heart could talk out loud
All you would hear it say is you’re the one
There used to be days that came to an end
Days I thought the bottle was my only friend
When standing on the corner of hello and goodbye
Hello sounds better, goodbye I’ll say when I die
I've seen the heart of darkness
Even held hands with the hopeless
Now that I've met you this is all I feel
No more heart of darkness no more hands of hopeless
I want you to hold me until my hurt is gone
I want you to be the shoulder that I can always cry on
As long as I can I’ll be standing here
Loving you until the end of my years
And if perhaps I were to die tonight
Then in my heart it would have been worth the fight
Because I am totally lost without you
My feelings for you are genuinely true
I've always been a fighter in life
But without you by my side, I’d likely give up the fight
I will never give up on us
Because without you is where I don’t want to be
I love you until the sun don’t shine
I love you until the moon falls from the sky
Even when our days may be through
Baby I’ll always be lost without you
