Lost To the Wind

I saw you first when summer had its end. So beautiful you were – a dream come true. I hardly could believe that God would send to me an angel; yet he sent me you! And like a leaf, into my life you blew. A leaf of early fall, your hue was gold. Our tale began . . . but it did not unfold, for by October’s end, you’d sailed away - lost to the wind! Now that we’ve both grown old - I wonder . . . are you golden still today?
