Love Poem: Lost Love

Lost Love

The numbing pain from many yesterdays,
lay buried under the frost of loneliness.
Memories fall like dead pine needles,
covering the trodden path I always travel,
crumbling beneath my weight.

I walk this road lonely as each failure,
echos in the hollow of my palms, open..empty,
now trembling at my sides.
I silently fall to my knees, in anguish,
for decisions made.

There's nothing left but a cold winter's breath
and footprints pressed into the ground.
Reminders, of where you once stood,
long ago.
