Love Poem: Lost Fate

Lost Fate

‘Twas once our hearts upon love’s parchment danced,
  in jubilee and joy our voices rang;
  with tenderness and love, how we romanced,
  and every song that could be sung ~ we sang.
  On flagrant wings your poems all soared away
  to others’ hearts ... whomever they may be,
  and onward rushes life in disarray,
  with promise drowning in some heartless sea.
  O' memories, embrace me one last time,
  in comfort for lost years we shan't reclaim;
  but, shed no tears to recompensing rhyme,
  nor lack of knowing who or what to blame.
‘Tis destiny unlocks life’s waiting gate;
  in truth, tho ... without You, I have no fate.
