Lost, Not Found

How do you know if you'll love someone forever?

I don't.

Not yet.

To find someone,

Who could make your heart skip a beat.

Who was so beautiful,

It hurt.

Who's smile,

Could leave you breathless.

Someone you could never let go,

No matter how far the fall was.

The excitement and thrill of a secret,

Only you should know.

The need to breathe,

Just so you could see them once more.

To walk,

And walk,

And keep walking.

Just so you could be one inch closer.

Even words don't have to be whispered to know how much you cared.

To end up in an unknown place,

One that leave you in fear.

But not caring,

When your holding their hand.

Nothing could hurt more than the cry of their pain,

It could rip at your heart,

And tear at your soul.

The thought of goodbye,

Was the kind of pain,

That could leave you numb and torn.

In lies and half truths,

Nothing leaves without a mark.

It forces you apart,

But only in distance.

The endless thoughts and battles,

Leave you thirsty.

The very sight of them,

Leave you burning,

Burning for their touch.

But not one word goes unheard,

Not one touch goes unnoticed.

Not for one second,

Could you turn and leave.

But in time,

You find yourself being held.

Held again by them.

Kissed by them.

But what changes?

Nothing but the need.

Need that seems to have sunk.

Sunk down to where you can't reach.

Gone without warning was the need,

Need to love.

How do you know if you'll love someone forever?

I don't.

Not yet.
