Love Poem: Losing You

Losing You

long looks upon the face of fate
while fate frowns down upon the looks of me
you say to fight the tide
but the current drags me out to sea

oh your sadness
oh how the irony
you anger at me
but your anger is your own tyranny

forgive and forget
that's what they seem to tell me
but our past stains our future
and forgiveness isn't free

i love you i love you
oh how cliche
but that of even more
is that i died that day

we're a grain of sand
just one in a million out there
so where's the other million
when i need them, they disappear

we're two flowers in a garden of many
a garden of wants and needs
but you burned down that garden
and soiled its seeds

"You did this to me."
what your slicing words portray
but all of your whispering
it whisps me further away

why can't you remember
the sand, garden or sea
we used to have good times
but pain distorts your memory
