Losing Myself

Losing Myself

I love you I said it a secret kept; now it’s been cried from every low and high place.

Buy you flowers diamonds rubies and pearls, shower with all the love I freely give, but you hold me down and back with the distain of unrequited love.

Your eyes say come to me your arms hold on tight, but your actions keep me distant like planets in the darkness of space.

What’s this hold you have on my soul that won’t let go, I try but my feet won’t let me move.

A prisoner of you I bear these chains, bringing me down my respect floats away sinew by sinew I’m tearing apart.

Stronger than this, withstood many pain’s but this game is driving me insane.
Set me free my jailer love me or let me be, your friendship brings me tears bitter not sweet, no joy but endless sorrow.

Memories of you will I carry to the furthest places but I must leave like the leaf that falls from the trees, for this pain to find a cure in your shadow I must no longer stand.
