Lord, Help Me
Lord, help me to understand
When the world passes me by
Without giving me a helping hand
Or helping me to feel reassured
Lord, help me to keep believing
When there are painful moments
Days when nothing goes right
And everything is so inadequate
Lord, help me to dream my dreams
When there are others complaining
That I don’t know what I’m doing
And I don’t deserve the aspiration
Lord, help me to encourage others
Even when I don’t know for certain
That what is about to happen now
Is what will bring about joy and faith
Lord, help me to let go of the past
And enjoy what you’ve given me today
With hopes for tomorrow’s satisfaction
And acceptance for whatever might come
Lord, help me to always lean on You
With assurance that You will be there
Always giving me second chances, renewal
When I don’t know what to do or say
Lord, help me to give generously of love
When I’ve been hurt or am uncertain
To give from the heart all that I’m made of
The unconditional love You gave to me
