Love Poem: Lonliness

Lonliness

Loneliness

Lonely so lonely, so empty, I cry
What is this feeling that’s draining me dry?
Weary so weary, no zest anymore,
Sleep does not conquer and rest won’t restore.
Is it depression? I can’t tell for sure
No pills or potions affecting a cure.
Praying for lightness, a lifting of doom,
A small spark of brightness piercing the gloom
Your leaving, an ache, my heart has to thole
Your lack of loving, beyond my control
But here in my life a painful regret
Our time together I’ll never forget
