Longing

Tell me my love, where have you gone
Why don’t you love me as I would have you do
Why can’t I be your everything
The sun, the moon, the stars
Searching that is all I ever do
Searching for your arms to hold me
For a love that will never let go
A love that knows no self
Thoughts together only as one
One soul, one mind, one heart
Entwined together for eternity
No absence, no parting
No set adrift apart
To be loved till the end of time
Like an eternal burning flame
Love me, love me like the heroes of old
Sweep me into your outstretched arms
And take me with you to Paradise
My life my world my all
Love me, love me with words, sweet tender words
Covet me, covet me as men covet power
Hold me, caress me with awesome wonder
Want me with a burning flaming need
With uncontrollable longing and desire
Tender my garden so the roses bloom
Make of me your everything
And I will die in peace
Having found the key to happiness
