Love Poem: Lonely Tear

Lonely Tear

You have hurt me to the core
Now I have no more tears
 Except the one lonely drop
 That represents all my fears.
 My fear to love again
 My heart is so sore
Being ripped apart and stomped on
 I'm surprised there is anymore.
 My fear to be happy
 Sadness has become my companion
 I don't smile anymore
 I am void of compassion.
 My fear to trust again
I'm accustomed to so many lies
 I wouldn't recognize truth
If it stared me straight in the eyes.
The weight of this lonely tear drop
Is a cumbersome burden on my soul
It spills over, down, down, down
The heaviness of it all starts to take its toll.
My lonely tear makes the trek down my face
It lands in the bathtub of cold water
I don't want to live with that Novacane feeling
And I feel my head going under...
