Like the Politician

Chorus
Slope of his promises he traverses
he turns out to be a diplodocus
having plans not concrete and disjointed
his words alone sent flames to the burnt town
we had hope to fly, now can’t even trot.

1. Perfect in his craft, a gas in a vacuum
void of any flame, producing so much fumes
fed his pride with my trust and ego laid end ways
heavy makeup covering an ugly face
short time for my heart to go voluntary
mind so strong but short of the military
on his fake image, rented love emblazoned
ten times more kindness, such a beautiful zone
behind every soft touch are his sharp villus
my commitment then reveals he’s a minus.

Chorus
Slope of his promises he traverses
he turns out to be a diplodocus
having plans not concrete and disjointed
his words alone sent flames to the burnt town
we had hope to fly, now can’t even trot.

2. After the votes, he creates ways to devalue
he’s been elected, my heart cannot argue
my mind’s thrown its mandate for his departure
whatever is the debt, thorn is the debenture
‘I love you too’ now a broken edifice
since his chase of me had no campaign office
in his cruelty, selfishness is a tussock
my weaknesses, reasons for his to mock.

Bridge
he’s won but my court has overruled
he shines but my senses have ignored
he attracts but my feeling’s dull
night falls, a zombie he truly is.
[Repeat]
Chorus x 2
Slope of his promises he traverses
he turns out to be a diplodocus
having plans not concrete and disjointed
his words alone sent flames to the burnt town
we had hope to fly, now can’t even trot.
