Life's Great Loss Twice
My mum was my greatest friend
stuck by me through thick and thin
in my late 20s, she passed away
this knocked me right on my chin
She left ground rules for me
to live by so my eyes to see
18 months later the love of my life
Jean took flight to heaven above
married bliss for a sweet 10 months
now single again life can be tough
In those times the Lord touched my soul
drew me to Himself made me whole
(The loss of my mother and my first wife Jean within space of 18 months in 1981/82 was mighty hard at the time but the good Lord brought me through and in looking back be grateful for His grace and mercy to me. I've now been very happily married to Christine for 28 years.)
