Life After My Lover's Passing

The day when you left me... As well as our children
Marked the day when my life slipped away...
Making arrangements to bury you... Was too hard on me
Seeing as you'll be leaving my side...
Funeral time is upon me...
Seeing you one last time is like death
And once it is over... I will feel so empty

What am I supposed to do without you?
Since you were my life...
These tears that I cry won't bring you back...
Into these arms of mine
Though I vowed to try and live on...
For our children's sake
I feel as if once they're fine
I'll just as quickly depart from this world!

Sure at first, our children... won't understand very much
And one may even ask me a tough question...
"How come mommy isn't up yet? It's been so long now."
And hearing that would only make it worse...
"Mommy won't be waking up...
She's now at peace like she should be
But try not to worry too much... I'll take care of you like her."

Something more painful than death would be
My broken leaft afterwards...
And in time our chilfren will knkow the truth...
But I must be strong for them
I just don't want to be away...
From you any longer
Why does life have to be
So cruel as to take away my only true love?

How am I supposed to live without you?
Since my future is now gloom...
These tears that I cry won't bring you back...
Into my arms warm embrace again!
