Love Poem: Life

Life

Life is a gift
why waste it?
you say you want to have "fun",
but is that really a way to spend your life?

When we were young you said you wanted to be a teacher,
what happened?
have you changed your mind?
you still have your life to live and succeed,
I know you can if you want to,
why not try?

I see you with your new friends,
and I can't help but think...
"what happened to my friend with dreams?"
you tell me what you do,
but you don't have to; I can smell it on you.
The only thing I can do is pray that you'll realize,
that life is a gift and this isn't the way to spend it.

We don't talk anymore,
but I know we miss eachother
I see you and you see me
why can't it be like it used to be?
You have your "fun" and I'll have mine,
we used to have our own fun all the time.

It was always you with me,
and me with you.
Your family even loved me too.

When we stopped talking it was a shock.
For me, for you, and our families too.
They loved me and I loved them,
why did that story have to end?

I never see you now,
and tell you the truth no one ever does.
You made wrong choices
and I hope one day you'll see that you hurt me.
If I could see you now and tell you one thing,

I would say...
Life is a gift, why are you wasting it?
