Love Poem: Letter To My Kryptonite

Letter To My Kryptonite

If one touch from you should
ensure my fall from grace,
Then clip my wings and
forever make me tame,
Wipe my eyes as I bid farewell
to a paradise slowly forgotten,
with the elatedness of a dying
sinner seeing the clouds part,

Should your lips be lethal to me,
Pucker pleasant poison, and rid
me of my life in one last moment
of romantic bitter sweetness,
As pleasure and poison become
entwined, I resist with the will
of a man addicted to his demise,
Thus by your lips my will is broken,

Be it so, if I must go by your hand,
for your love is my last temptation,
and the choice of life or love
sadly does not leave me torn,
For I chose you before the choice,
with no seed of seduction needed,
As my mind better knows you as my
last breath, my heart knows you best,

Therefore, my fate has been sealed,
by the power of a racing heartbeat,
A touch, a kiss, a memory in time,
I trade, to be yours one more moment,
As your love inspired my life, it shall
be the rush that stops my breathing,
and my first plea remains my last,
kill me softly, and love me forever...
