Love Poem: Letter To Love

Letter To Love

The world is doing whatever it can, Love,
To show you
That it cannot be the place
You would prefer
To enjoy
As freely as would a child
Rather than choosing
The comfort and the stability
Of the heavens
As it has been promised to me
While I slumbered in the depths
Of the night!

You had stubbornly chosen to mock me
Making my revelations seem to be jokes
Over which you would care to laugh
When you would be done with your duties!

You had even steadily chosen to hurt me
Breaking my heart into millions of pieces
Making me understand that you love me not
But that you would prefer to saunter along
While holding the hands of another!

But the truth has emerged
Earlier than I thought it would
As, in the end,
Maybe the skies had had more than enough
In seeing me agonise
Over something which they will to see
Happening!

Pray,
Turn not a deaf ear to my laments,
This world belongs not to us
The body, the name and the personality
That you carry belongs not to you
Rather,
Lent they have been to you
As such remains a requirement for everyone
Who wishes to travel in this world!

And someday,
We are expected to shed off everything
And turn
Into celestial butterflies
Submerged in the pleasures that shall be
Offered to us there!

Open your eyes,
Pray, please do,
And see the truth in the hurt
That I carry on my soul,
In the blood that flows from my eyes
And in the millions of pieces of my heart
As they lay scattered,
Unheeded,
On the floor!

A God you are,
Fallen in stature,
Overburdened, trying to juggle
In a world which holds no meaning
And which is turning out to be even more shadowy
As the winds of doom keep blowing their evil seeds
Over its lands!

I have loved you in the many lives we have had before
And I still love you in this one life
As I anticipate already
For the next one!

Waste no time, waste no opportunity,
Hold my heart in the palms of your hands
And love me
As the skies will you to!
