Let Her Go

Carefree and cool this boy was
He didn’t give a f-- and always outta luck
He ran into me on Sunday
At a tiny French street café

The rain was slipping down
And he spoke with that slippery sound
Of loves lost once twice and then found
Of pain that he couldn’t rebound

I said look here boy
you’ve seen the truth
A woman’s only as good as her word
And her word fades away
With the changing of the day
And you’re left in dismay, no idea what to say
Cause your heart won’t part ways
You better let her go

He said you don’t understand
I love her still against my own will
A spell she did cast
Cased my heart in glass
But ill suffer for her now

Carefree and cool this boy was
Content to have his loves mistrust
He ran to me last Sunday
At that tiny French street café
