Love Poem: Lessons Learned

Lessons Learned

I went to church the other day,
I sat close to the front so I could hear what our pastor had to say,

I watched him speak about the humble and meek,
And how we needed Jesus in our lives, it’s something we all should seek.

Then he said how Jesus died, that he died to save the souls of living man.
And as he spoke of his love for Jesus, down his cheeks I watched as the tears they ran.

He poured out his heart and he bared his soul,
Sharing with us how great life is when you let Jesus be the one who is in control.

As services drew near the end I wasn’t really ready just to up and leave,
Cause there was something in the air that we all should receive.

I love the Lord and I felt His presence there,
In this little rundown church with a pastor who cares.

You know sometimes it’s hard to tell when someone is sincere,
I’ve been misled before by someone I held quite dear.

We’ve all probably been hurt one time or the other,
But we can’t stop believing or trusting our brother.

You have to keep the faith and let God provide,
He’s always there with you right there by your side.

Well in closing this little story, there is one little thing I wish for you to keep in mind.
Jesus’ love is everlasting and it’s the greatest of things that you’ll ever find.

Take Jesus as your Savior and let Him cleanse your soul,
Let your light be a beacon for others make this your daily goal.
