Les Diables Derniere Danser

The horizon azure with streaks of amber
The crackling of gravel beneath the horses feet
Hundreds of guests quiet their banter
Just to hear the sound of his heartbeat
Golden rays peek behind The Manor
The crowd applauds as he trickles down two steps to a carpet above stone
He turns towards the carriage to see a beautiful smile from cheek to cheek
Stars fill his head as he reaches a shaky hand to help her
But there’s no need
She floats down like an angel from her seat
She turns to face him as she giggles from embarrassment
Never thought the world would look at you and only you he asks
She hits his chest and laughs
Her eyes melt him like ice scorched by flame
They walk the path as the guards open the gate
Roses and daisies line the ground below them
The ball room is empty as the two exchange a glance
The guests behind cheer for a dance
He takes her hand and pulls her close to his soul
And the chandeliers light make an angel in Paris glow
The pianist plays Liebestraum
With every key he plays his love for her grows
Around and around they go dazing in each others eyes till he hits his last note
Again they clap their hands in endless cheer
Only they aren’t cheering for him
In her ear he whispers
They’re applauding for you my dear
As she bows her head he looks at her in awe
For in his head all he can think
Is she’s the most beautiful woman he ever saw
