Last Waltz

LAST WALTZ
Sixty years since the day that we married; When we danced that first dance as man and wife. Sixty years since the moment I carried You over the threshold to start our new life. Through thick and thin times, through good and the bad. For richer for poorer, sickness and health Bound throughout life by the love that we had. No need of riches, no need of great wealth. We’ve danced cheek-to-cheek through those diamond years. Our life has been a spectacular ball. Now, as the lights dim and the ending nears, We wait for the final curtain to fall. The band is tuning, the dance floor is free. Say you’ll be saving the last waltz for me. 12th June 2021 The Last Dance poetry contest Sponsor - Craig Cornish
