Love Poem: Last Letter To My Beloved

Last Letter To My Beloved

So, that's it then, the Time that I kept envisioning
Has come, by itself, at its own pace,
Slower than that of a snail's
Yet, so subtly faster than even that of a cheetah's!

It's the last time that I shall get to admire the depth of your eyes
The last time that I shall have a chance to arouse your lips
The last time that I shall respond to the urgent needs of your touch
The last time that your eyes shall be locked into mine
Paving the space between them
With imaginary pebbles and cobbles
So as to allow our two souls to always be entwined with each other
Each time they would want to!

When the winds of fate had pushed me into your oceans
My still water pond had shaken up
Yet, when my flow got merged into yours
Life felt as sweet and as soothing as the bliss of candy
In the mouth after a heavily salted meal!

I never anticipated that our ending would be so abrupt
I did listen and abide to the skies
I did bare my soul, my heart and my femininity to you
Always thought I that we would depart to there where we belong
Together, as are words to pages!

Now, though, my tears have turned bloody
It is up to the higher powers to choose what to make of us
Our bodies and false identities shall be erased
We shall be forgotten in a world where we threw tantrums
To try to remain immortals!

Beloved, existing is of no use without you
Shall it be that no more are we to be bonded
I shall ask to be disintegrated
Pain has always inhabited me
Wish I to be freed from it
Pray, know that you are free and that your choices
Are solely yours!

I shall burn this last letter to you;
I know that its fumes shall follow you in the other world
While my soul here shall wait for when I shall be with you
Pray, I know our actions, our feelings and our choices shall be tested
And I trust in your heartbeats as I remain
Your Lover, lost in hopeless love for that which you hide
In the sacred sanctity of your heart!
