Last Embrace

Last embrace

It was in Banda Aceh indonesia the year 2004
a beautiful day it seemed to those enjoying their vacations, then the Tsunami
struck one of the worst disasters of the modern era 250,000 people died that day
this is just one story.

Eighty years old both of them, sixty of them spent together
They were friends and lovers until the end,
they thought it would last forever.

They were enjoying breakfast leisurely
when they heard everyone begin to scream
That's when they knew, that they were doomed
no more time left, hold on for dear life was all they could do.

Their vacation plans were interrupted as were their very lives
their vocabulary expanded as they learned their last word
Tsunami!

Clutching onto each other with all the strength
that two elderly ones could muster
Their last look into each others eyes was eternal love
as the massive wave pulled them under.

They were found two days later a few miles away
still in their last embrace.
Amazingly, peace and a even a smile
was still on their faces.

Their memories were united until the very end
now they wait in God's memory to be reunited again.
