Love Poem: Kitchen Window

Kitchen Window

Time alone
Yeah, we all need
But how does it help
When we need help
Because I still see

I see you parked in the car
In the driveway
The sunlight cast shadows
But still I see you
Do you see me?
Do you see? I’m sorry

This kitchen window
Lets me see you
And still feel you
But really lets me see me
The fact I need you
Do you see me?
Do you see? I’m sorry

We took the vows
Of man and wife
We all disagree
That’s just part of life
The harder we hit
With verbal attacks
It takes even longer
For us to come back

But do you see?
Do you see me? I’m sorry

Funny thing
This time apart
I’m watching you
I think you’re watching me
We hold our hearts
We wear them for the other
That’s all I can say
At least for today
Do you see?
Come inside to me
