Love Poem: Kiss Me Goodbye

Kiss Me Goodbye

My love, we said goodbye because of the clock hands
which wound to tight around us
Should we meet again I would tell you
that you are the silhouette that stays in my heart
You are the smile that beckons in timeless echoes
through twilight's realm of soft red sunsets
which dangle like mirrored dewdrops dripping from our closed eyelids
when we were held tightly in the cupped hands of love...though briefly
When Love found us worthy and burned our souls
etching a memory on our still nights
Lovers who dared to dance on the tips of flames with hunger
Would that we meet again in quiet dreams of yesterday
If only to say hello
