Kingdom of the Heart
Freedom has multiple
levels of elevation
and decent – heaven at
the top, though many of us
seem stubbornly hell-bent…
One would think, then,
direction a true
and worthy goal,
though none need travel
far: God, at the start,
having created us
whole, and both
near and far, each of us
having potential radiance
of a star…
happiness is not a splintered
metaphor, nor Christ a mere
fragment of the greater part –
the kingdom of love already
the immortal core-substance
of every human heart...
