He was the candle by my frozen bones He was flesh bound to a broken soul He was the keeper of my monster he was each stoke of broken coal He was the seaside drone that called He was the light that beckoned me He was each wave that reached my feet and bottom wave that tumbled free He was the song that bellowed low He was the sun that hung too high He was the tears that flood my kingdom and then the arms that helped me dry He was the love that kept me well He was my crutch and loving smother He was the candle by my frozen bones and now he warms another
