Love Poem: Kate

Kate

Your blue eyes
You on ice
The leaves at our feet
Our hearts on our knees
How gracefully your figure skates
Oh dear Kate
We float like a snowflake

On your lap
I camp
Green leaves in the tree
Our hearts high as a kite
How heavenly your smile glows
Oh dear Kate
I’m lost in your cool breezes

My Kite
Tethered to you Katherine
You fire me up
Like gasoline
Blazing at twilight
Like a wild, deserted shoreline
Please never let me go
Hold the line!

I’m hung
Long
High...so high on your attitude
Our kites in formation
Slave to love’s current
We float
Like a fresh ray of sunlight

Strong winds
So unkind
Sets us adrift
But this string is stronger than steel
This love is real
So we float
High...so high above the clouds

My Kite
Tethered to you Katherine
You fire me up
Like gasoline
Blazing at twilight
Like a wild, deserted shoreline
Please never let me go
Hold the line!

A new season
My only reason
To never let you go
I’m at your end (your tail)
With teeth and nail
An evergreen warm coast
Oh dear Kate...lets float away

Your blue eyes
You on ice
I'm losing this snowfight

On your lap
I camp
Our evergreen sprits free

I’m hung
Long
Our future so clear from this altitude

Strong winds
So kind
Pull us together...forever and ever
