Love Poem: Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope

When you close your
eyes, what do you
see in the
shadows?

Do you see
my
image in the
kaleidoscope of your
mind? What comes when you
conjure my memory? Is it
echoes of laughter
within the shifting
displays of color and
thought?

In the fluid medium of
memory, I play with your image.
I dress you naked
Wash you in lavender
Envelope you smooth

The glowing essence of
possibility warms my senses,
Hints of moments to come
pulse on my skin. Ethereal in perception, you
beckon with delicate promises of
perfection & pleasure. Like the soft
curve of a baby’s smile, delightful and
soothing I accept the
inevitable

Much more than the physical
calls to me. I
yearn for the
pacifying balm of your
laugh. Your
quiet presence
placates my weary mind yet
stimulates my
passion.

A lifetime of meaning in my fingertips
