Love Poem: Kaboom

Kaboom

Kaboom, the ground shakes under my feet. It didn’t happen,
it’s just a feeling from which to retreat. Kaboom, kaboom,
maybe I’m wrong, and something has happened beyond my control.

Windows are broken, there’s blood on the street. There’s no going
back now, because love is at stake. I felt the force of the blast
and the heat, it won’t be the same now, it’s not a mistake.

Break down the door and take up the fight. Run as fast
as you can into the chaotic, shimmering night. Follow your instincts
and shatter your fear, find the horizon and follow the BLUE light.

It’s just the beginning, I’m learning to crawl. The first steps
are the hardest when they follow a fall. But love pulls
me forward, beyond the release and over my cold wall.

She is waiting alone, but holds up the flame. Our hearts
are united, only the time and the distance remain. No more excuses
or dark shadows, I’m riding the BLUE wave I cannot contain.

Now she is sleeping, but I will not rest. This time I
will endeavor to put our dreams to the test. I cannot go back,
it doesn’t exist, I have started the journey with love to my quest.
