Justice Beckons

This is America,
and she is complicated.
She's a dream, an idea, an ideal.
She's an experience, a work in progress.
Sometimes her justice cries and screams.
Her sounds are heard, but no one listens.
As we strive toward equality and justice,
evil tides from the deep often pound our shores,
and as a nation, we often stumble and fall,
but with the yeast of justice, we always rise.

This is a family.
We fight and feud sometimes,
but we shall not go backward.
We shall find our way forward
and face our monsters and skeletons.
Though not all will heed nor want to succeed,
still, we shall root out hate, bigotry, and greed.

This too shall pass
If the policy is wrong, we shall righten it.
Neither demon, devil, nor mortal shall stop us.
We shall decern and discover our fruited trees of demons,
whereupon we shall not pamper, placate, nor prune them, but we shall cut them down to the roots and plant new healthy ones.
Yes, God guiding and leading us, we will cast out our many demons.
