Just a Kiss In Summertime

Summertime: that's when all is hot and dry,
The sea is calm, and beneath a shade we lie,
Then it is time to go for a cool dip.
After which a long cold drink we will sip.

The ice-cream vendor slowly passes by
We called him over and two we buy.
I gulp mine down as I watch her tongue,
Licking the cream, watching her so young.

Can I ever let such beautiful sweetheart
Escape my love and from me stay apart?
Tentatively I reach out and take her hand
My mind vibrating a love song from some band.

When she kisses me softly on my lips.
It is as if the sun goes in an eclipse.
Then I know what love really meant.
My heart beats fast and I am content.
