Love Poem: Juliet

Juliet

I had been waiting for so long,
growing old and cynical with every season,
only loving on this elementary plane,
lonely spirit, untouched by a lovers gaze.

Impetuous Juliet, past my prime
transported through passion,
restoring my soul with impossible hope,
until my core hummed with foolish intensity.

Bringing light to the unspoken impossible
with gentle charm and soft command,
I cried when we met because I fell too fast
and knew the debt owed to beginnings.

I will live in this moment an eternity
for this is surely heaven.
