Love Poem: Jesus Is Born

Jesus Is Born

In the middle:
Of the night you came, sweet Jesus for
To bring us light,
Of winter to bring us warmth,
Of the manger, you were born to
Teach us humility,
Of an impoverished land, you grew for to
Distribute your spiritual wealth,
Of the war, you marched, to bring us peace,
Of occupation, yourself found, for to bring us freedom,
Of humanity’s condemnation yourself, you placed for
To lead us into salvation
Of hatred, you put yourself, to instruct us how
To love!

We pray to you, divine infant
Our weary hearts, to purify
So as worthy, we would be
Your Holy name, to glorify!
