Love Poem: J.

J.

She, as from a silent dream, strayed
Down from the mind of night;
Enchanting and with cerulean gaze
Engulfed my adoring sight;
So that I, in altered frames of thought,
Integrated with her light.

Serene, cool beauty undisturbed, brushed
All the dusk with fire;
Liquid and soft as eiderdown
Warm-fused with a pale desire;
So that I, with ice chips in my veins,
Thawed at her transpire.

She, perfect icon in the dark, cried
Love to a heart of frost;
Stricken, in awe, beheld her form
And fell to my heathen cost;
So that I, in clasping her essence close,
Found all I counted lost.

Alive, in a rapid catalyst, of
Faith and a failing will;
Inspired and with a focussed eye
Watched all of my life distil;
So that I, fixating on her grace,
Knew love as the earth stood still.
