Love Poem: I'M Just Getting Started

I'M Just Getting Started

Can't you spare a lie or two,
Just to make me smile ...
               Tell me that I'm handsome
And you love my sexy style?

Can't you fib just once or twice,
And tell me that you care ...
Pretend the sparkle in my eye
Is why you're apt to stare?

Can't you weave a story, fine,
Where I'm your "One True Love",
The angel that you prayed for ...
     Sent to earth from up-above?

Can't you just for once pretend ...
That you know how to cry?
               Show some REAL emotion -
I'd pay dearly for that lie ...

Can't you act sweet-hearted?
          I love playing make believe!
But I'm just getting started -
I've a few tricks up my sleeve ...

Oh, let's both say "I love you, Dear",
          I don't care if it's not true ...
Just fake love 'til you make it,
And I'll do the same ... for you.
