If You Were Coming In Fall

As the warm air moves out and the cold air breeze in
There’s no sign of you coming back this season,
If you choose the winter it'll remind me of the cold nights
Forgetting the happiness and remembering the fright
Remembering the way you took the color off my skin
Leaving me uncovered in this ice cold dreadful wind,

I’m going to clean before spring, before the birds start to sing
Before the rain knocks against the trees and make the leaves ring
Try to mop away the tears and sweep away the cries
Try to forget the way you hung me out to dry,

When summer is here, I know that you are near
But not close enough to dance in the sun
To run across green meadows till the day is done
Instead, i’m lonesome in this impassionate heat wave
My nights are long but I try to stay brave

If you were coming in fall
Winter is long gone
I have escaped the showers that April brong, and the caged bird’s song
In the summer I hope you heart stayed pure as mine
Please come in the fall because it's the perfect time.
