If In Such Blaze Your Passion Dwells

If In Such Blaze Your Passion Dwells

If golden verse, seals your desire
in love's truth, you find fire
in Nature's beauty even more
rainbow's treasures, a score.

If poetry, renews your soul
when life takes heavy toll
your pen and paper, is the key
in verse realms you must flee.

If romance,its delights are sought
in a rut you are caught
Reading Byron sets heart beats fast
let soul compose to last.

If sad, lonely nights are you bane
heart's desires, not insane
bleed onto paper loving thought
heart's truth, joy may be bought.

If at dawn's rise, you are too sad
want more of what you had
let pen birth your romantic scenes
shades of a peacock's preen.

If her smile sets soul to delights
her lips, tantalize nights
her beauty knocks you to the floor
let verse open love's door.

If life rewards poetic pen
wanting love is no sin
her first kiss lit eternal flames
you want her hand, no games.

If in such blaze your passion dwells
with her sight, your heart swells
let poetic pen write that love
while thanking God above.

If golden verse, seals your desire
in love's truth, you find fire
in Nature's beauty even more
rainbow's treasures, a score.

Rhyme, ( Why Poetry, Life And Love Are Oft Wed )

Note:
Old poem from ancient times it now seems to me.
Decided not to edit, to present as was first composed.
Now forty-two years later, and I still believe in its truth.
See its massive beauty that holds poetry as a shining light.
And find expressing heart's truth is always right.
