If I Find I Am Soon To Die

If I Find I Am Soon To Die By Rick Rucker If I find I am soon to Die, I will not scream, nor even Cry, I am lucky, and have always been, The most fortunate of Men, Life has been most kind to me, There were troubles, but I could see, There seemed to be a Plan for me, Saved me dying, after from falling from that tree, And saved me from The Accident, Not too broken, only bent, An Angel must have seen me fail, But, from my side, she did not bail, Even from my closest scrape, I somehow did a Houdini Escape, When Death seemed quite Certain, I have always reappeared from behind the Curtain, Now, that I am getting Old, My usefulness is less, I am told, And not quite as fast on my feet, One day, I will not make it across the street, Before some wayward truck, And Fate, will conspire, to end my Luck, Short of doing those things, to which I aspire, They will have to wait, as I expire, If, at that point, I still can speak, I will likely talk a blue streak, Telling anyone that is near, Probably more than they care to hear, What would they hear me say, On this, my very last Day? That, far from being mad as Hell, That Love had kept me in its protective Shell, In Love, as I am, I know difficulties, are but a sham, Put in our path to make us see, That, without Love, Life would be quite ugly.
