If I Could Suspend Time

If I could suspend time

If I could suspend time, I would make
My hours with you an eternity, Dear heart,
Though it be but a fleeting moment.
The drudge of day gives way to night,
When I shall see you, and time take flight,
Soaring, tumbling, rushing past on iridescent wings,
So soon to come to rest, spent. And often,
In crystal moments, the voice of wine
Speaks its honest song of love and desire, its
Purple lips seducing the guarded mind to open.
And rational judgment of right or wrong
Suspends, and we speak as one mind.
Past time and time yet to come blur into
One moment, an endless now.
