If Finding Love Is Much Easier Than Finding Gold

I had the assumption
that a faithful person
was very hard to find;
if finding love is
much easier than finding gold...
don't change that notion,
skip all the stepping stones
to get over the hurdles
you'll face switching all the aces!

And that precious gold
I found in a glowing smile
believing in the fable of fools...
as she warmed me more than sunshine,
and kissed me with the softness of roses
that was gentler than the kiss of the wind!

I walked many streets and alleyways,
I saw hundreds of faces without smiles,
they were looking for arms
to hold and spend long hours
gazing at the new stars,
trying to reach a universe of their own;
and the tighter they hugged on the benches,
the sweeter was the taste of the evening rain!

I had the assumption
that a faithful person
was very hard to find...
how wrong was I?
Too often I wonder if love only gives joy
and takes away all the pain;
some shake their heads and totally disagree,
they have harsh words for those who don't agree!

If finding love is much easier
than finding gold,
many didn't wish to be
so broken-hearted
ending up lonely, but not so free;
if destiny and life aren't fair,
we should invent new tricks
to avoid unwanted heartaches!
