I Welcome the Night
Echoing voices pierce through the night
Where once had been darkness now there is light
It shines down quite brightly reflecting off the pond
Dreams become ripples and then move beyond.
Somewhere on the way I met this girl
Everything has changed much like a new world
I start to see things as if through her eyes
I head out in the world without my disguise.
Come night time I'll hear you again
Not just a love but my very best friend.
I think of her voice so kind and so sweet
I dream of the day when we finally meet
I hear her laugh my heart starts to smile
Thoughts begin to scatter emotions run wild.
I think maybe of dancing in the moonbeams
Then I hopelessly drift back into a dream
The laughter becomes contagious erases all the pain
The sun creates a rainbow as it shines through the rain.
The world keeps on spinning yet mine seems to stand still
I'm standing alone on the top of some hill
I look down to see the world below
I see visions of a princess my love starts to grow.
I wish upon a star and then wonder where you are
The distance between us really doesn't seem that far
All I need to do is jump inside my car
To hold you in my arms tell you everything's alright
As we drift off to the sunset I welcome the night.
