I Wasted a Rhyme On You

Tears in my eyes right now, but they will dry by the end of the day
My heart hurts, but I know that I'll be okay
This liquor makes me want to call you, but my head knows that's what I shouldn't do
I know that In the future I'll look back and think to myself I can't believe I wasted a rhyme on you

Girls come and go no matter how much you want a certain one to stay
Did you come into my life at the wrong time?, would you prefer this version of me today?
Sometimes we have to lose in order to gain
Love can bring happiness, but first you have to endure the torture and pain

This was a new experience for me because it was more than just wanting a girl in my bed
I went all the way out there with my heart and ignored my head
I found a girl I adored but I guess Cupid got his aim wrong
Because you just used me until someone else came along

I thought we had a real connection but you left like it was the easiest thing in the world
I was there for you when you needed and did everything you asked of me girl
I guess it wasn't enough or maybe you didn't care the same in return
Now my guard is up forever and the last time I ever allow love to leave me hurt

You meant more to me than I can even explain
A part of me wants to get revenge just to even the pain
But that won't do either of us any good so I'll move on and pretend I'm not hurt
Just because you couldn't see it doesn't take away from my worth

Tears in my eyes right now, but they will dry by the end of the day
My heart hurts, but I know that I'll be okay
This liquor makes me want to call you, but my head knows that's what I shouldn't do
In the future, I'll look back at this like I can't believe I wasted a rhyme on you
